Burnt Laila dies in CMCH

Rahela Begum Laila, 30, who was allegedly burnt by her husband on Wednesday, died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital around 1:00am yesterday.

Laila's father filed a case accusing her husband Md Yusuf, father-in-law Kafil Uddin and brother-in-law Md Ali, said Bayezid Bostami police.

According to the case statement, Yusuf and his family tortured Laila, a readymade garment worker, since they got married two months ago. On Wednesday, Laila was dragged out of her home to the foot of the hill and Yusuf then set her on fire by pouring kerosene.

She had suffered 99 percent burns.
