Boy dies from electrocution in capital

A 13-year-old boy died from electrocution when he attempted to climb an electric pole to get on a wall while he was playing with other children in the capital's Azimpur yesterday.

Sixth-grader Mir Bayezid Islam lived with his parents in Mouchak Colony area.

He fell to the ground after he touched a high voltage live wire, his elder brother Touhidul Islam, 25, quoted Bayezid's friends as saying.

Locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead, he added.
