Appeal for help

Five-year-old Md Monayem has been suffering from acute myeloid leukaemia popularly known as blood cancer.

The youngest among three children of day labourer Alek Shah and his wife Shuheda Begum of Brahmanbaria, the boy has been undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University for about a month.    

His doctor said the boy has to undergo periodic chemotherapy and accompanying treatment requiring Tk 5 lakh, which his family cannot afford. The family is now looking to generous and affluent people of the society for financial assistance.
