ACC starts probing graft at Ctg Port
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started investigating alleged corruption and irregularities in different projects, including purchases of three old vessels and a scanner, undertaken by the Chittagong Port Authority (CPA).
ACC Deputy Director Sheikh Fanafillah has already talked with several officials of marine, accounts and mechanical departments, and examined documents of different purchases in last two days, said CPA sources. Upon receiving separate allegations from different individuals, the ACC has taken the initiative.
A three-member parliamentary sub-committee is also probing some alleged irregularities in six projects.
