ACC to probe case against 2 court staff
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will investigate the case filed against two court staff, including a bench assistant of Dhaka Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court, for allegedly issuing fake bail orders.
As the case was filed under the ACC act, no other agency can investigate the case, said Sub-Inspector Ahammad Sharif of Kotwali Police Station while producing bench assistant Mohammad Moslehuddin Bhuiyan before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Saiful Alam Mollah.
The court ordered police to send him to jail as it had no jurisdiction to grant him bail in the case filed under the ACC act. Only the special judge can grant bail to such accused, said sources.
Kotwali police on Sunday arrested Mosleuudin on the court premises while Sheikh Md Naim, an MLSS of the court, managed to flee sensing presence of the law enforcers after Ubaidul Karim Akondo, an official of the court, filed the case.
All the accused of 70 criminal cases, pending with the same court, were released from prison following the fake bail orders.
