Abducted student rescued in Rajshahi

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) rescued a student of Shah Makhdum Polytechnic Institute from Samshadhipur in the city on Monday noon, a day after he was abducted.

On Sunday, Anisur Rahman, son of M Hannan Miah was picked up from Amchattar area.

Later, the abductors demanded Tk 1.8 lakh as ransom over phone.

On information, Rab-5 conducted drive at Barabangram Chalkpara village and arrested M Shohag and his mother Latifa Begum.

Based on their statements, Rab rescued Anisur and arrested Shohag's sister Lima, Badsha, son of late Abdul Mandal and Liton Ali.
