Abducted girl rescued after two days
A schoolgirl was rescued in Rajshahi yesterday morning, two days after she was kidnapped from Tongi.
Police said one Mohammad Jasim Uddin, 22, abducted the class VIII student on Saturday while she was on her way to school.
Mohammad Abul Bashar, sub-inspector of Tongi Police Station, said after the girl repeatedly rejected Jasim's marriage proposal, he kidnapped her. Later, her father filed a case with the police station accusing Jasim.
Investigating the incident, police questioned Jasim's friends who said Jasim had taken her to his village in Rajshahi.
Police raided Jasim's home in Darsanpara of the district and rescued the girl. Jasim is on the run.
