52 houses gutted in Thakurgaon

At least fifty-two houses were gutted in a fire in Choutaki Baharzila village of Baliadangi upazila in Thakurgaon early yesterday.

Fire service and locals said the fire originated from an earthen oven of a house and soon engulfed to the adjacent houses. Fire fighters brought the blaze under control in over three hours.

They rushed to the spot about two hours after they were informed, an allegation by locals denied by Golam Mostafa, the fire fighting team leader. He said they were a little late.
