At least five persons, including three of a family, went missing when a trawler sank after being hit by a launch in the Buriganga river in Dikrir Char of Narayanganj yesterday.
The search for the missing persons was abandoned for the day around 7:20pm.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. The trawler was carrying around 50 persons travelling to Dikrir Char Ghat from Baktaboli Radhanagar Ghat.
Lutfa Begum, a passenger of the trawler, said her husband Selim Khan, daughter Moushumi Akhter and son Emon Khan have gone missing.
Md Abdul Malek, officer-in-charge of Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station, said police and divers of fire service participated in the rescue mission.
