4 killed in Keraniganj road accident

Four people were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Nawabganj road in Keraniganj this morning.

One of the deceased was identified as auto-rickshaw driver Uzzal (27), of Mugarchar in Keraniganj.

The accident occurred when a covered van hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from behind near Tulshikhani bridge around 7:00am, highway police said.

The covered van sped away after the incident, they said.

The victims – all farm labourers – had come to Dhaka from Rangpur for work. Hearing the news of lockdown to be imposed from tomorrow, they were returning to their village, police said.
