16 houses, shops gutted in Ctg

Fire damaged valuables of eight houses and eight shops in separate incidents in Chittagong city early yesterday.
In Kalurghat area, fire which originated from an electric sort circuit, gutted valuables, worth Tk 2 lakh, of eight houses, said Fire Service officials.
On information, fire-fighters from Kalurghat Fire Service rushed there and doused the blaze.
Meanwhile in Akmol Ali Road area under EPZ Police Station, fire gutted valuables worth Tk 80,000 of eight shops.
