Customs officials seized 100 gold bars weighing 12kg, worth Tk 6 crore from a toilet of an aircraft and detained two persons at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport yesterday evening.

The detainees are Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, an international passenger from Bangkok and Mohammad Abdur Rahim, a domestic passenger.

"We detained them as cabin crews informed us they were in toilet for a long time on the way to Dhaka from Chittagong," said Shahiduzzaman, assistant commissioner of custom. It was the third gold seizure from Regent Airways in one month.
