Child dies while acting out a hanging scene in a drama series

A seven-year-old girl reportedly died while acting out a hanging scene in a drama series in Madhabpur upazila, Habiganj yesterday.

The girl, Putul, was the daughter of Sayeb Ali of Kalikapur village in the upazila, our Moulvibazar correspondent reports.

Sayeb said five children, including Putul, were shooting a drama series yesterday evening. While she was performing in the hanging scene, her orna (scarf) got entangled in an electric fan, her father said.

When the other children saw what happened, they screamed and alerted the others. Putul's family members took her to a hospital, said Madhabpur Police Station Officer-In-Charge Md Iqbal Hossain.

She was declared dead at the hospital, the OC added.
