NSU Startups Next fuels entrepreneurial surge at Startups Showcase 2025
North South University (NSU) Startups Next (NSUSN), the university's premier startup incubation platform, successfully concluded the highly anticipated "Startups Showcase 2025". The two-day event, held at the central NSU Plaza Area, highlighted NSUSN's crucial role in launching the next generation of high-quality, investor-ready companies in Bangladesh.
The Showcase strategically featured over thirty diverse ventures. The portfolio spanned both established alumni-founded enterprises and companies graduating from the Flagship and Founders' Lab Programs of NSUSN Cohort 3. The composition of this year's portfolio reflects NSU's direct commitment to producing scalable, investor-ready businesses capable of attracting both local and international capital.
While the showcase featured a wide array of innovations, including e-commerce, healthcare, and food innovation, the core of the selected ventures is concentrated in sectors that attract the highest global investment. These key areas include Financial Inclusion (FinTech), focused on digital credit and mobile banking tools; Intelligent Systems (AI/DeepTech), leveraging AI/ML for optimised logistics and enterprise SaaS; and Green Technology and Agri-Tech, presenting innovative solutions for climate resilience, improving food security, and strengthening sustainable value chains.
"North South University has the highest representation of successful startups in Bangladesh's startup ecosystem. Founders of companies like Pathao, Chaldal, Sharetrip, iFarmer, Truck Lagbe, Jatri, and Barikoi all trace their roots back to NSU. Through Startups Showcase 2025, NSU Startups Next presented a promising pipeline of early-stage startups now being mentored at our incubator. These young innovators had the chance to connect directly with mentors, investors, and policymakers, setting the stage for the next wave of transformative startups from NSU," said Samuel Mursalin, Director (IC) of NSU Startups Next.
Reflecting on the event, Nusrat Aziz, Programme Coordinator of NSU Startups Next, remarked, "We showcased homegrown ventures that we've been mentoring for just a few months, and it's incredible to see their progress. Our goal is to give every young founder the chance to innovate and create something extraordinary. This year, we onboarded our largest and most idea-driven cohort yet. As a small dedicated team, these two days showed what's possible when you empower talented, hardworking individuals with vision and values."
The Startups Showcase 2025 also served to reinforce the vital importance of academic-industry collaboration. By providing a platform for Cohort 3 to reach a tangible milestone, NSUSN empowers the next generation of Bangladeshi founders to achieve global competitiveness, aligning academic innovation with real-world market demands. NSUSN reaffirms its mission to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and technological development across the nation.
