Language Martyrs’ Day: DU to restrict campus entry from Friday 7pm
Security will be tightened at all entrances of University of Dhaka from 7:00pm tomorrow in preparation for Language Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, according to a press release issued by the university’s Public Relations Office today.
The authorities have urged those living on campus premises to return to their dormitories or quarters by 7:00pm. Those requiring entry after that time for urgent purposes have been requested to carry valid security passes and identity cards.
As part of the observances, a silent procession and Prabhat Pheri [early morning procession] will begin at 6:30am on February 21 from the “Smriti Chirantan” premises in front of the vice-chancellor’s residence.
The procession will be led by Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan. Participants will proceed along the designated route via Udayan School before reaching the Central Shaheed Minar
