Youth-focused Nuclear Science and Technology Fair held in Dhaka
The Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission organised the Festival of Youth 2025 along with the Nuclear Science and Technology Fair on November 25–26 at the Atomic Energy Centre in Shahbag, Dhaka.
The event encouraged young people to learn about the peaceful use of nuclear technology.
The fair featured 11 stalls that showcased research, development work, and services related to food, agriculture, environment, industry, health, nuclear medicine, nuclear power generation, and technological innovation. Visitors, including science enthusiasts and the general public, learned about different areas of nuclear science and its uses.
On November 25 morning, Md Anwar Hossain, Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, inaugurated the fair. Dr Md Mazibur Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission; Dr Samina Ahmed, Chairman of the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research; and Dr Debashish Pal, Member (Physical Sciences), were also present with directors, scientists, and officials of the Commission.
Students from schools, colleges, and universities in Dhaka visited the fair and took part in activities with enthusiasm. They interacted with scientists and joined a science quiz. The fair was open to all from 10:00am to 4:00pm on both days.
