Presidency University holds CSE Freshers Reception and Orientation 2025
Presidency University held the Freshers Reception and Orientation 2025 for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on November 30 at the Elite Convention Hall in Gulshan 1.
The event welcomed new students and introduced them to the university's academic environment and values.
The programme was attended by senior figures from Bangladesh's academic and engineering community. Mohammad Kaykobad, PhD, Distinguished Professor and pioneer of computer programming contests in Bangladesh, delivered the orientation speech. Dr Md Anwarul Kabir, Principal Adviser of Presidency University, attended as Chief Guest. Prof Dr Shahidul Islam Khan, Dean of the School of Engineering and Head of the Department of CSE, chaired the session. Other attendees included Sakir Hossain, Registrar; Afroza Helen, Director of Student Affairs; and Jahid Hasan, Head of Admissions and Public Relations.
Speakers highlighted the department's focus on preparing graduates for the fast-changing technology sector. Students received an overview of academic procedures, departmental facilities, laboratory resources, and opportunities in research, competitions, and industry collaboration.
The programme also recognised achievements of current students and alumni. Speakers encouraged freshers to embrace curiosity, teamwork, and resilience as they begin their studies.
The event ended with an interactive session and a cultural performance by current students and alumni. The Department of CSE continues to expand its activities to support skilled graduates for Bangladesh's technology sector.
