Kausar Alam elected as president of ICMAB

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) has elected its new office bearers for 2026 at a recent council meeting, says a press release.

Md Kausar Alam FCMA was elected president of the institute. Abdul Matin Patwary FCMA and S M Zahir Uddin Haider FCMA were elected vice-presidents. Monjur Md Shaiful Azam FCMA was elected secretary, while Professor Dr Md Musfiqur Rahman FCMA was elected treasurer.

Kausar Alam is currently serving as group chief financial officer and company secretary of Seven Rings Cement Bangladesh Ltd. He is also a director of Janata Bank PLC and an honorary director of ARK Foundation, a social development organisation.

He previously served the institute as vice-president and secretary. He is also an associate chartered accountant from England and a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
