IUB’s two-day international business conference ICEBTM 2025 begins at Westin

More than 300 academics, researchers, industry leaders, and students from over 12 countries are participating in ICEBTM 2025.

The two-day International Conference on Economics, Business and Technology Management 2025 (ICEBTM 2025), organised by the School of Business and Entrepreneurship (SBE) of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), began on November 14 at The Westin Dhaka.

Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, Executive Chairman of PPRC and Chairman of BRAC, inaugurated the event as Chief Guest, alongside IUB Board of Trustees Chairman Didar A. Husain, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. Tamim, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Daniel W. Lund, Acting Dean of SBE Prof. Dr Raisul Awal Mahmood, and Conference General Chair Prof. Dr. Md Mamun Habib. Syed Nasim Manzur, Managing Director of Apex Footwear Ltd., attended as Guest of Honor.

In his speech, Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman stressed the importance of knowledge exchange in tackling global and local challenges, while Didar A. Husain warned that Bangladesh must accelerate its readiness for the next industrial revolution. Prof. Dr. M. Tamim highlighted the participation of 70 student papers and representatives from over 12 countries, calling it a major academic exposure for young researchers.

Throughout the day, keynote papers were presented by Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, Prof. Jonathan Liu of Manchester Business School, and Prof. Dr. Maniam Kaliannan of the University of Nottingham Malaysia. Sessions were chaired by academic leaders, with panels featuring senior figures from Bangladesh's manufacturing, finance, research, and health sectors.

Two parallel sessions showcased 80 research papers from local and international scholars, while a PhD Colloquium and Paper Producing Workshop offered guidance on doctoral research and publication.
