DIU inaugurates national segment of GEW 2025

The theme was “Empowering Tomorrow’s Innovators, Today”. Young entrepreneurs, educators and ecosystem leaders attended the event.

Daffodil International University, in partnership with the Global Entrepreneurship Network Bangladesh, inaugurated the national segment of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025 on November 18, 2025, at the 71 Auditorium of Daffodil Plaza.

The theme was "Empowering Tomorrow's Innovators, Today". Young entrepreneurs, educators and ecosystem leaders attended the event.

GEW 2025 is celebrated in more than 200 countries. This year's global theme, "Together We Build", highlights collaboration and youth empowerment. DIU, known for its focus on innovation, is leading the Bangladesh segment. The event reinforced a national shift from job-seeking to job-creating.

The programme featured masterclasses, panel discussions and an innovation showcase where young entrepreneurs presented their ideas.

Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, Chief Guest and Adviser to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, said early education is essential for building an entrepreneurial mindset. He said children should learn to turn creative ideas into productive initiatives.

The session was presided over by Dr Md Sabur Khan, Founder and Chairman of DIU and Chairman of GEN Bangladesh. He said DIU has been working for more than a decade to build a strong entrepreneurship ecosystem. He urged young innovators to stay committed and focused.

Other speakers also shared insights. Dr K M Hasan, Managing Director of GEN Bangladesh, spoke about developing a global mindset. Dr Rubina Hussain, President of the Bangladesh Federation of Women Entrepreneurs, stressed skills and financial literacy for women. Shaiful Hossain, CEO of Finpower Leadership International, called for financial education at school level to support national savings, investment and employment.
