BUFT National Career Fest 2026 held
BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), through its Career Development Club, organised the BUFT National Career Fest 2026 on January 14–15 at its permanent campus, aiming to strengthen links between academia and industry.
The two-day event was presented by BGMEA, KDS and Prime Bank, and powered by Centro, Fashion Step Group, Fakir Fashion, Shin Shin Group, FPG and Masco Group, with Auko-Tex Group, RH Corporation and Asian Apparels Limited as co-powered partners. More than 300 organisations participated, attracting over 10,000 job seekers and around 40,000 visitors, says a press release.
Participants took part in direct recruitment activities, on-the-spot interviews, and a series of workshops, seminars and panel discussions focused on career development and industry readiness.
The fest was attended by Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the BUFT Board of Trustees; Mohammed Nasir, member of the board; Mina Masud Uz Zaman, Joint Secretary of NSDA; GE Zhenyu, President of CEAB Textile & Garment Branch; Mijanur Rahman, Vice President of BGMEA; Nafis Ud Doula, Director of BGMEA; Shibbir Mahmud, Chairman of Swisstex Limited; Ehsanul Karim Kaiser, Convener of the Interim Committee of ITET; and M M Mahbub Hasan, senior vice president of Prime Bank PLC.
The welcome address was delivered by Prof Dr Engr Ayub Nabi Khan, Adviser to BUFT. Prof Dr Md Alamgir Hossain, Acting Vice-Chancellor of BUFT, along with club adviser Md Abdul Mukit, club president Abid Hossain and general secretary Mahmud Fantasir, also spoke at the event.
Speakers highlighted the importance of English language proficiency, leadership skills and adaptability in the global job market, noting that academic qualifications alone are not sufficient for long-term professional success.
