BUBT EEE department receives BAC accreditation

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) has received accreditation from the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC), marking a milestone in the university’s academic journey, says a press release.

A celebration marking the achievement was held on Tuesday at the International Conference Hall of BUBT. The programme was organised by the university’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

Professor Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed, chairman of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council, attended the event as chief guest. In his address, he said the accreditation of the EEE department was a commendable example of maintaining quality standards in higher education and congratulated the university leadership, faculty members and students for their collective efforts.

Professor Dr Ahmed Al Mansur, chairman of the EEE department, expressed gratitude to all concerned. He said, “From the very beginning, our goal has been to ensure quality education for our students. This achievement of BUBT is the result of the collective hard work of our teachers and students.”

The programme was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr A B M Shawkat Ali. In his remarks, he said the accreditation had further strengthened the university’s responsibility to uphold high academic standards and added that BUBT remains committed to achieving similar accreditation for other disciplines.

In recognition of their contributions to the accreditation process, Associate Professor Dr Md Shamsul Arefin and Assistant Professor Md Sabbir Hasan Sohag of the EEE department were honoured with crests.

Among others present were Professor Dr K Ahmed Alam, director of IQAC; Professor Dr Munshi Mahbubur Rahman, dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences; and Professor Shanti Narayan Ghosh from the Department of Finance. Deans of various faculties, department heads, faculty members and students were also present.

The programme concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and a cultural performance by students.
