AIUB wins bronze at National Basketball Championship 2025

The Bangladesh National Basketball Championship 2025 ended with a major milestone for AIUB, which earned a bronze medal in its first appearance at the national level.

The tournament featured 12 teams in four groups, with the group stage held in Jashore. The teams included AIUB, BRAC University, BKSP, Jahangirnagar University, Daffodil International University, BUET, Chattogram DSA, Jashore DSA, Rajshahi DSA, Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air Force.

AIUB advanced to the final round in Chattogram, where six teams qualified. They were AIUB, Daffodil International University, Chattogram DSA, Rajshahi DSA, Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air Force. Matches in the final round were tightly contested. Bangladesh Navy finished first. AIUB and Bangladesh Air Force were level on points for second place. Based on head-to-head results, Bangladesh Air Force reached the final, placing AIUB in third position.

The bronze medal marks a strong debut for AIUB. The team showed discipline, character and continuous improvement throughout the tournament.

After the championship, the team presented the trophy to Dr Hasanul A Hasan, Founder Member of the Board of Trustees, in the presence of Dr Carmen Z Lamagna, Shania Abedin, Prof Dr Saiful Islam, Prof Dr Md Abdur Rahman, Prof Dr Manzur H Khan, Major (Retd) Faiz-Ul-Bari Rajon and Md Joynal Abedin. They congratulated the team and reaffirmed AIUB's commitment to academic and extracurricular excellence.
