AIUB delegates attend a training at Birmingham City University
A delegation from American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) has participated in a training programme on digital manufacturing at Birmingham City University (BCU) in the United Kingdom.
The programme was conducted under the British Council’s Transnational Education Exploratory Grant, says a press release.
The delegation included Saniat Rahman Zishan, director of the Faculty of Engineering; Chowdhury Akram Hossain, associate professor and head of the Department of COE; and Mahamudul Hassan, assistant professor of the Department of IPE.
During the visit, the participants were introduced to BCU’s academic mission and facilities, including the STEAMhouse and its Creative Lab, which houses advanced 3D printing and CNC machining technologies.
The programme featured keynote lectures, technical sessions, research discussions and facility tours led by BCU academics and researchers, including Javaid Butt, Md Ashikul Khan and Muhammad Adnan. Key topics included digital manufacturing, thermal management, composite materials in construction, digital transformation, Industry 4.0 to 6.0, additive manufacturing, laser marking and inspection systems, and renewable energy applications.
The programme concluded with a closing ceremony hosted by the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Birmingham, reaffirming the commitment of AIUB and BCU to strengthen future academic, research and industrial collaboration.
