Accounting Day Run 2025 to be held at Hatirjheel on Nov 7

The Dhaka Regional Committee (DRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) is set to organise an event titled "Accounting Day Run 2025" on November 7, 2025, at Hatirjheel, Dhaka, to celebrate International Accounting Day.

A press conference was held on October 29 at CA Bhaban, Karwan Bazar, where ICAB officials unveiled the official event T-shirt and medals. The unveiling drew great enthusiasm from members and guests.

Present at the press meet were ICAB President N K A Mobin FCA, DRC Chairman Mahmudur Rahman FCA, Race Director Asifur Rahman FCA, Event Convenor Sk. Md. Tarikul Islam FCA, DRC Secretary Md. Akizur Rahman FCA, DRC Leader Md. Maksoudur Rahman FCA, and Md. Kamruzzaman FCA, among others.

With the inspiring theme "Fitness Meets Accounting," the event will promote health awareness, wellness, and work-life balance among professionals. Organisers said that while accountants play a critical role in driving economic progress, their demanding workloads often come at the cost of personal well-being. The initiative seeks to emphasise that physical and mental fitness are vital for sustained professional excellence.

Over 1,800 participants - including Chartered Accountants, their families, CA students, corporate professionals, and running enthusiasts - will join the event across two categories: 7.5 KM and 1 KM. The 1 KM category is dedicated to mothers and children, with more than 200 participants expected. The run will start at 5:30 AM from the Hatirjheel Amphitheatre, cover the scenic track around the lake, and finish at the same venue.

Celebrity runners and fitness advocates such as IRONMAN Mohammad Shamsuzzaman Arafat, popular educator Ayman Sadiq, endurance trainer Sajjad Hossain Snigdho, and ultrarunner M. Mahfuzul Haq will make special appearances to inspire participants.

A Kit Expo was held on November 5, 2025, at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka, where participants received their race kits and goodie bags. 

Sprint, City Bank PLC, bKash, Shah Cement Industries Limited, Transcom Limited, and DBL Ceramics are the event's principal sponsors. Supporting partners include Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka, SMC Plus, Glucomax-D, Ispahani, CCI Bangladesh, Ruchi, Aaram, Horlicks, Maggi, Dettol, Zerocal, Milo, Nescafé, Lovello, Gigabyte, and Ibn Sina.
