SBAC Bank rolls out Bangla QR
SBAC Bank PLC has launched “Bangla QR”, a safe, simple and interoperable digital payment platform introduced by Bangladesh Bank, aimed at building a cashless economy.
Abdul Quaium Chowdhury, managing director (current charge) of the bank, inaugurated the Bangla QR at the bank’s head office in Dhaka on Monday, according to a press release.
SBAC Bank also handed over a Merchant QR code to King’s Confectionery in Motijheel as an acquirer. A digital payment was made at the shop using the bank’s mobile app, BanglaPay. SBAC Bank also provided Merchant QR codes to several other small shops on the same day.
Md Altaf Hossain Bhuyan, deputy managing director of the bank; Md Masoodur Rahman, head of the banking operations division; Mohammad Abdul Mannan, head of the credit administration division; and Md Mofazzal Mamun Khan, head of the technology department, also attended the programme.
Md Rashed Akter, head of the retail distribution division; Shafiur Rahman, head of the principal branch; and Mohammad Shafiul Azam, head of the digital financial inclusion division, along with senior executives, divisional heads and officials, were also present.
