Software entrepreneur Luna Shamsuddoha passes away

Luna Shamsuddoha, former chairman of Janata Bank, died of cancer today. She was 67.

She breathed her last at a hospital in Singapore in the morning, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak confirmed in a Facebook post.

She took over as the chairperson of Janata Bank in 2018, becoming the first woman chairperson of any state-owned bank.

Luna was bestowed with the 'Outstanding Woman in Business' award at the 2017 Bangladesh Business Awards.

She was also a software entrepreneur, chairman of Dohatec New Media -- running the enterprise since 1992.

She was the managing director of Global Voice Telecommunications Ltd as well.
