New Bangladesh Bank governor takes office

Newly appointed Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Md Mostaqur Rahman joined office today.

He entered the central bank headquarters in Dhaka at 10:40 am.

“First, I will join the office, then I will speak,” Rahman told journalists while entering the premises.

The government yesterday appointed Md Mostaqur Rahman as governor of BB for a four-year term, cancelling the remaining tenure of the previous governor, Ahsan H Mansur
