DSE index keeps rising
The benchmark index of Dhaka Stock Exchange continued increasing and reaching new heights amid buoyancy of investors.
Today, the DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), surged 65 points or 0.92 per cent to 7,140.
On the same day, DS-30, the blue-chip stock index, rose 37 points to 2,583.

Turnover, an important indicator of the market, rose to Tk 2,866 crore today, down from Tk 2,901 crore yesterday. At the DSE, 177 stocks advanced, 167 fell and 30 remained unchanged.
Tamijuddin Textile topped the gainers' list that rose 9.94 per cent followed by Samata Leather, Khulna Power Company, Dominage Steel and FAS Finance.
ICB 3rd NRB shed mostly that lost 6.57 per cent followed by Prime Bank 1st ICB AMCL Mutual Fund.
Beximco Ltd became the top traded stock with shares worth Tk 132 crore followed by British American Tobacco, Summit Power, SAIF Powertec and LafargeHolcim Bangladesh.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also rose today. The CASPI, the general index of the port city bourse, edged up 134 points, or 0.65 per cent, to 20,797.
Among the traded 328 stocks, 138 rose, 152 fell and 38 remained unchanged.
