Covid-19 pandemic: Govt postpones Dhaka Int’l Trade Fair
The government has postponed Dhaka International Trade Fair-2021 considering the risk of Covid-19 pandemic.
The Ministry of Commerce took the decision today. The fair was supposed to be held in March at the newly built Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal.
Talking to BSS, Commerce Secretary Dr Md Jafar Uddin said if the fair takes place visitors run the risk of getting infected by this virus.
"Considering this, the government has taken a decision to postpone the fair," he said.
He also informed that the government will hold the fair at a suitable time after the Covid-19 situation improves.
The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) usually holds the fair at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital in January every year.
