Bangladesh Travel Mart 2026 begins today

Star Business Report

The 2026 edition of the three-day Bangladesh Travel Mart began today at InterContinental Dhaka, bringing together tourism stakeholders from home and abroad to promote Bangladesh as a key destination and strengthen ties within the global travel industry.

Organised by the Bangladesh Outbound Tour Operators Association (BOTOA), the fair runs until September 5.

The event features tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, destination management companies (DMCs), tourism boards, and other travel service providers.

Exhibitors are showcasing tour packages to destinations worldwide, alongside air tickets, hotel and resort bookings, visa services, and travel deals.

Organisers said the primary goal of the fair is to connect Bangladesh's tourism industry more effectively with international markets and foster direct business ties between local and foreign companies.

The event also offers a platform to highlight the potential of the country's tourism sector on the global stage, they added.

BOTOA expects this year's Travel Mart to draw around 100 exhibitors, 60 trade buyers, and 15,000 visitors.

BOTOA President Syed Golam Mohammad said, "Our goal is to bring domestic and foreign buyers, sellers, and tourism service providers together in one place to create real business opportunities."

Bangladesh's tourism sector holds immense potential, he said, adding that growing business contacts with international tourism organisations would create new markets, investment, and cooperation opportunities in the country's tourism, hospitality, and aviation sectors.

BOTOA General Secretary Md Shariful Islam Sharif said, "We want to create an international-standard travel trade platform where, alongside viewing exhibits, there will be genuine business networking and productive B2B meetings."
