Some 26 fintech innovations and solutions were recognised with the Bangladesh Fintech Awards yesterday.

The recognitions were given at the third edition of the Bangladesh Fintech Award, in 14 categories, at a ceremony at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon in Dhaka.

Some 12 innovations received honourable mentions, reflecting the diversity and ambition of Bangladesh's rapidly evolving fintech sector, according to a press release.

The award programme, initiated by the Bangladesh Fintech Forum and organised by the Bangladesh Brand Forum, celebrated ground-breaking initiatives that are driving the nation's financial technology transformation.

"Bangladesh's fintech sector is stepping into a defining phase of its journey. As digital services advance, innovation must be inclusive, secure, and purpose-driven," said Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur.

"The initiatives recognised tonight reflect the leadership and commitment required to build a strong, efficient, and future-ready financial ecosystem."

A total of 301 submissions were received this year and evaluated through multiple jury sessions, including four grand jury rounds conducted by 13 distinguished experts from the banking and finance industry, said the press release.

Shariful Islam, founder and managing director of the Bangladesh Brand Forum, said the recognitions aim to accelerate innovation and strengthen collaboration across the sector.

Earlier in the day, the 5th Bangladesh Fintech Summit 2025 was held, where policymakers, bankers, and fintech leaders attended.
