The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) extended its gains for the second consecutive week, driven by positive movements in the shares of banks, pharmaceuticals, chemical companies, and financial institutions.

The benchmark DSEX index rose 66.28 points, or 1.30 percent, to close at 5,179.18 on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.

Dhaka stocks continued their gaining streak for a sixth consecutive trading day yesterday despite experiencing a lower turnover than that on the previous day.
