Emirates operating small number of flights after airspace opens partially
UAE-based international airliner Emirates said today it is currently operating a reduced flight schedule until further notice following the partial reopening of regional airspace.
“This follows the partial re-opening of regional airspace for the safe conduct of commercial flights,” the airline said in a media statement.
On March 5 and 6, more than 100 flights will depart from Dubai and return, carrying passengers eager to reach their final destinations as well as essential cargo such as perishables and pharmaceuticals, the airliner said.
The airline also said it would gradually rebuild its flying schedule, subject to airspace availability and all operational requirements being met.
“Safety is always our top priority,” the statement said, adding that the airline continues to monitor the situation and adapt its operations accordingly.
For now, customers have been advised to proceed to the airport only if they have a confirmed booking, Emirates said.
