Biman resumes Dhaka-Karachi direct flights

Flights will operate every Thursday and Saturday

Biman Bangladesh Airlines resumed direct flights on the Dhaka-Karachi-Dhaka route today.

A flight from Dhaka, BG-341, departed for Karachi from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:00pm.

On this occasion, an inauguration ceremony was held at the Dhaka airport in the afternoon.

Sheikh Bashir Uddin, adviser of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism; Imran Haider, high commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh; Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq, chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh; and Shafiqur Rahman, managing director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, among others, were present at the programme.

The Biman flight will land in Karachi at 11:00pm local time.

The return flight, BG-342, will depart Karachi at 12:01am on January 30 and will arrive in Dhaka at 4:20am local time the same day.

A total of 150 passengers travelled on the flight.

From January 29, under the winter schedule, flights will operate every Thursday and Saturday.

Departures from Dhaka will be at 8:00pm local time, arriving in Karachi at 11:00pm.

Departures from Karachi will be at 12:01am local time, arriving in Dhaka at 4:20am the same day.
