Bangladesh re-elected as an ITU executive member

Bangladesh finally got elected in the ITU Council for the term of 2015-2018.  To enlighten the nation about this tremendous achievement, ICT Division recently arranged a press conference in Bangladesh Secretariat. Bangladesh was able to secure 115 votes in the election. Due to the resulting no. of votes, Bangladesh obtained 7th position among the 13 vacant positions. The State Minister for ICT Division of MoPT & ICT Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak spearheaded the campaign alongside the team of delegates from Bangladesh. The delegation consisted of BTRC chairman Sunil Kanti Bose, Parliament permanent standing committee members, MoPT & ICT secretary and joint secretary, BTCL chairman, high ups from telcos etc. State minister also informed that a specialized ITU cell will also be formed particularly to address all ITU related issues.
