Two held with fake currency in Naogaon

Detectives arrested two alleged fake note traders along with counterfeit notes worth about Tk 83,000 in the district's Badalgachhi upazila on Thursday night.

The two are Hasan Ali Chowdhury, 38, of Srirampur village in Badalgachhi upazila, and Siddique Mandol, 31, of Akkelpur upazila in Joypurhat.

Acting on information that a ring of fake note traders has planned to circulate fake notes in the markets ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, a team of Detective Branch of police conducted a drive in Palsha village and arrested the duo.

A case was filed with Badalgachhi Police Station in this connection, said Md Iqbal Hossain, superintendent of Naogaon police.
