Two falls to death from train rooftop

Two people were killed and six others injured after falling off the rooftop of a passenger train in Ishwardi yesterday.

The dead are Abdul Hakim, 16, and Rabiul Islam, 20, from Bogura.

The accident happened when the Khulna-bound Chitra Express was crossing the Pakshi Hardinge Bridge around 5:00am, police said.

Members of Pakshi Hardinge Bridge Police Camp recovered the two bodies and rescued an injured man.

Five others were rescued from Bheramara point of the bridge, said Md Shamim, officer-in-charge of Bhermara Police Station.

Among the six injured, one was admitted to the Bheramara Upazila Health Complex and rest were to Kushtia General Hospital.
