Central 14-party alliance spokesperson and Awami League Presidium Member Mohammed Nasim yesterday said several evil forces were out in the country to create anarchy in the name of forging national unity.

“If these evil forces create anarchy in the name of giving support to BNP-Jamaat ahead of the next national polls, the 14-party alliance along with the people will resist them in unison,” he told a press briefing after an alliance meeting at AL president's Dhanmondi political office.

Nasim, also the health and family welfare minister, said the evil forces were hatching deep-rooted conspiracies in the name of so-called national unity. They wanted to bring unconstitutional forces to power by fishing in troubled waters, he added.

The 14-party spokesman expressed thanks to the voters of Gazipur city for casting their votes in favour of AL mayoral candidate to ensure his victory in the election.

“People are our source of power and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the symbol of power of the people,” he said.

The minister said the pro-liberation forces were united to resist all anti-liberation forces.

Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, AL Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman, organising secretaries Ahmed Hossain and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Office Secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap, Information and Research Secretary Afjal Hossain and Bangladesh Tariqat Federation Chairman Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizbhandari, among others, were present on the occasion.
