Imagine a society where women and girls don’t have to be afraid. A society where women and girls are treated with the same respect as men and boys, and where they have the freedom to reach their full potential in all aspects of life.

We all share one planet, and so essentially we are all neighbours, yet the inequality between affluent nations and impoverished countries is stark.

Bangladesh turns fifty this year, and so do I. I was born and raised in Cambridge, England. For me, this is significant. While living in Western society, I have been steeped in the importance of maintaining my cultural identity.
