Actress Zakia Bari Mamo made her debut with the film “Daruchini Dwip”, earning a National Film Award for her very first role. Since then, her journey has been marked by success. She has solidified her position by showcasing her talent across three platforms: television dramas, films, and OTT.

Tama Mirza and Afran Nisho notably collaborated for the first time in the hit “Surongo”. Now, the duo is set to reunite in the upcoming movie “Daagi”.

"Priyo Maloti", directed by Shankha Dasgupta, is a story deeply rooted in the lives of ordinary people. "It’s our story, the story of our lives. It’s completely original. The audience will get to experience a film with a fresh, authentic narrative," Mehazabien explained. "There is always a demand for good stories, and this film delivers just that."

The film won an award at the Bengaluru International Film Festival, and was also nominated for the ICFT–UNESCO Gandhi Medal at India’s 53rd International Film Festival. "The recognition ‘Nakshikanthar Zamin’ has received abroad is a significant achievement for this film,” remarks Jaya.

In addition to her work in cinema, Mousumi has also appeared in numerous OTT projects, many of which have been well-received by audiences. She shared, “There are possibilities for new projects in OTT soon. I’m hopeful about delivering some great content.”

This month, Bijori takes on a new cinematic journey with “840”, directed by the renowned Mostofa Sarwar Farooki. In an exclusive interview with The Daily Star, she shared her thoughts about the film and her career.  

Tania revealed that her dream of working in showbiz started at a young age. “While still in school, I would watch television and dream of seeing myself on screen. Many people aspire to become doctors or engineers, but my dream was to act and work in showbiz. Today, I am living that dream,” she said proudly.

Another notable release, “Noya Manush”, is already captivating audiences in theatres this December. Directed by Sohel Rana Boyati, this drama features Rawnak Hasan and Mousumi Hamid in leading roles, with a large ensemble cast. The story revolves around survivors of a flood who start new lives on an island. 

Reflecting further on her experience, the actress remarked, “I discovered an entirely different side of Selim bhai during this project. While I have collaborated with him on numerous occasions, this project felt unique as it allowed me to see him from a fresh perspective.”

Bangladeshi actor, director, and playwright Rawnak Hasan’s latest film, "Noya Manush", is set to release next month. This marks his ninth appearance on the big screen, and after a long hiatus, Rawnak is finally returning to the big screen, expressing his excitement for the release.

In an interview with The Daily Star, the actor shared, “I have spent a decade working in television dramas, receiving immense love and appreciation from the audience. Now, I am focusing more on films, with my sights firmly set on cinema. Over the past one and a half years, I have significantly reduced my work in dramas.”
