Today marks his 70th birthday. Marking the occasion, the veteran actor sat down with The Daily Star to look back at his illustrious career.

The last rites of the renowned writer, beloved by readers in both Bengals, was held yesterday.

Having started his acting career on the theatre stage, Nader Chowdhury made his way into the television and cinema screens, acting in numerous tele-fictions and films. As a director, he has also helmed three films so far, including “Lalchor”, “Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe” and “Jinn”, which was released this Eid.

How did the two actors meet? In response, Dilara shared that both their husbands were writers, and through this connection they were introduced with each other. “I will never forget our first meet, she made me comfortable, as if I were her real sister.”

“Whenever I go to my hometown, I feel very much relaxed. Even in this time of extreme heat, the greeneries sooths my mind, and the very known soil of my own place, the songs of the birds— where I was born and brought up in.”

Popular in both Bengals, Jaya Ahsan’s upcoming film, "Ardhangini," is set to release in India on June 2. The Kaushik Ganguly directorial project will star Jaya in the leading role. 

Speaking to The Daily Star, Ramendu shared that the play has been translated into many different languages. A lot of stories are told in the letters, including the story of a couple reminiscing their past.
