Bangladesh's banking sector faces a Tk 1.71 lakh crore capital shortfall

Bangladesh’s shift to a market-based currency exchange system marks an effective transformation of the country’s macroeconomic policy approach.

What started with lease financing, progressively diversified into term lending, working capital financing, corporate advisory, housing finance, merchant banking, equity financing and finally took the name of today’s non-banking financial institution (NBFI).

If media reports are followed closely, it can then be concluded that our banking industry is battling a persisting malady: capital shortfall.     

Ascension of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission, air and water pollution, the eruption of the ozone layer and such devastating environmental events have drastically affected the climate, eco-system and livelihood.

With the culmination of climate change and its adverse impact, we are all concerned about our habitat, economy, life-style and future generation.
