Tigers take control after Taijul's fifer
A day that seemed to be going Zimbabwe's way ended with smiles for the hosts as Bangladesh, riding on their spinners, managed to bounce back in the final session of the third day of the second Test yesterday.

Taylor turns it on
After starting the day badly, Zimbabwe staged a strong recovery on the back of Brendon Taylor's fifth Test hundred, which was also his maiden away ton, on the third day of the second Test against Bangladesh yesterday. At one stage they seemed set to go past the follow-on target of 322, before the Bangladesh spinners bounced back late in the day.

Masterful Mushfiqur scales new peak
Bangladesh dominated proceedings on Day 2 as they picked up the wicket of captain Hamilton Masakadza after declaring their innings at 522 for 7. Zimbabwe openers had negotiated fiery spells from Mustafizur Rahman and newcomer Khaled Ahmed but Taijul Islam picked up the Zimbabwe captain in the 14th over. Four more overs of play took place before stumps on Day 2.

Zim roar as Tigers whimper
When Ariful Haque was the last batsman to be dismissed, top-edging Wellington Masakadza to wicketkeeper Regis Chakabva, he and the rest of the Bangladesh team were probably unaware that there were still a lot of spectators queuing up outside the ground to watch the first Test ever to take place at the Sylhet International Stadium.

Tigers look to dominate in Sylhet's first
Bangladesh's growth in Tests has not quite matched their progress in ODI cricket as just 10 wins in 108 matches show. Among their most monumental results in the format are wins over Australia and England at home on tailor-made pitches that favour spin bowling, so the Tigers may opt for the same strategy when they take on Zimbabwe at the Sylhet International Stadium today in the first match of a two-Test series.
