With just six days left before the Election Commission’s registration deadline, the National Citizen Party has nearly completed its preparations for application submission. 

A probe has found massive irregularities in the rental of shops at nine markets of the National Sports Council (NSC), including a case where the government receives as little as Tk 22,000 in monthly rent while as much as Tk 3 lakh is being collected from the tenant. 

The newly formed National Citizen Party will formally request the Election Commission to extend the registration deadline for political parties by two months, as the party is unlikely to meet the registration requirements by April 20.
