Sufi and folk music evening at AFC

Music enthusiasts of the port city enjoyed a recent performance by Aswad, a Chittagong -based Sufi and folk band. Alliance Française de Chittagong (AFC) organised the musical evening at its gallery.

The programme featured traditional Sufi and folk music of the region and music and instrumental pieces composed by Aswad.  The band, led by Mohammad Mohsin, kept the audience glued to their seats at the auditorium.

Raphael Jaeger, director of Alliance Française de Chittagong, gave the welcome speech.

Then Anwarul Hoque Chowdhury played a Sufi Bhandari song on his saxophone, to the raves of the audience.

Chairman of PHP Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, members of the executive committee of Alliance Française de Chittagong and eminent personalities of the port city were present at the programme.
