Samina Chowdhury, Warfaze rock CU

Noted singer Samina Chowdhury and Bangla rock legends Warfaze enthralled the students of Chittagong University (CU) with their performance in the CU campus on Saturday afternoon, at the university's Abdur Rab Hall playground.

CU Public Administration department organised the colourful show marking the 35th year celebration of the department.

As Samina Chowdhury walked on to the stage, the audience welcomed her with a big applause, before she opened her performance with “Tumi Amar Porichoy”.

She mesmerised the audiences singing “Amar Majhey Nei”, “Ful Fute Ful Jhore Bhalobasha Jhore Pore Na”, “Shomoy Jeno Katena” and “Saat Bhai Champa Jago Re Jago”. She also sang an encore of a local Chittagonian song, and closed her set with her famous song “Kobita Porar Prohor Eshechhey”.

The main attraction of the programme was Warfaze's first performance at the university, and they captivated the jam-packed audience. The pioneering metal band began their performance with songs from their latest album “Shotto” and set the show alight with crowd favourites songs like “Moharaj”, “Oshamajik”, “Jotodure”, their version of the Lalon song “Arshinagar”, and “Tumi Ki Janona”.  The band, equally impressed by the audience's response, concluded the show with their hit “Hothasha”.
