Lakshyapar's late autumn session held

By A Correspondent

Lakshyapar has crossed the penultimate milestone of the year by holding their late autumn session of classical music. Ahead of the 9th annual conference to be held during the upcoming winter, the organisation arranged a lecture demonstration-based soiree of classical and semi-classical music. The topic was Kazi Nazrul Islam's application of ragas and forms in his compositions. It was jointly presented by three prominent artistes of Nazrul Sangeet:  Suman Chowdhury, Manas Kumar Das and Nasima Shaheen.

Conceived as the first of a series of demonstrations to come in future, the first one took up four evening ragas to show how the National Poet captured them for his classical, semi-classical and modern songs. All the three artistes were overwhelmed to have an audience of about 200 people who enjoyed the presentation from the beginning to the end. Sudhijan Pathagar, a privately managed library since 1964 hosted the programme for the 5th year at a stretch. Lakshyapar coordinator Asit Kumar thanked the host, the artistes and the audience before he announced that their 9th annual conference will be held on January 11 next year.
