Joyita launches album of Tagore songs
Promising singer Farheen Khan Joyita launched her new album of Tagore songs, titled “Koto Modhushomire”, on Tuesday. The CD was unveiled by eminent musicologist Dr. Sanjida Khatun at the Chhayanaut auditorium, while director general of Bengal Foundation, Luva Nahid Choudhury compèred the programme. The event saw a turnout of cultural personalities, including renowned Tagore exponent Mita Haque, who is also Joyita's mother.
Farheen Khan Joyita performed at the inaugural programme, accompanied by Ruptanu on keyboards, Ashit Biswas on esraj and Pradip Rai on mandira.
The album, released from Bengal Foundation, consists of eight tracks, including “More Baare Baare Firale…”, “Choronoddhoni Shuni Tobo …”, “Prochondo Gorjoney”, “Shukhohin Nishidin”, “Hridoybashona Purno Holo Aji”, “Amar Mon Jokhon Jagli Na”, “Baaje Baaje Rommobina Baaje” and “Khelar Shathi, Bidaydwar Kholo”.
