“Celebrating Life” at Comilla University
The Daily Star and Standard Chartered Bank's Celebrating Life programme visited Comilla University on Sunday, as part of their nationwide district tour. Hundreds of students eager to see the programme - a landmark competition of film, photography and lyrics in the country - milled around the Comilla University Campus. The programme was inaugurated with a photography exhibition at 11am, with students flocking in. However, the bulk of the anticipation was reserved for a performance by Joler Gaan, one of the most beloved bands in Bangladesh.
The band hit the stage at 3pm and performed until 5pm, and the crowd could not have enough of it as chants of “one more' were heard as soon as they were done playing their signature songs, which included “Emon Jodi Hoto”, “Jhora Patar Gaan”, “Bokul Phool” among many more.
The Celebrating Life Grand Gala will take place at the International Convention City Bashundhara on October 28.
